Lockdown Bakehouse Barnes

Lockdown Bakehouse Barnes was way better than I expected. I went here with my brother not expecting much of it because it was a quite small place but we were so wrong as the coffee was really good and the carrot cake we tried was superb. Honestly, the coffee wasn't too bitter but it still tasted like coffee and it didn't feel to heave or thick like certain ones. The carrot cake wasn't dry, it was really moist and the flavour was amazing. We could tell the carrot cake is not a big branch one as it still feels made with love. The atmosphere was ok, the place is small but has about 5 tables, some of them are smaller than other but you can definately take a sit here. The only thing I could mention that wasn't so great is how clean the floor was. The floor was a bit dirty and you could see some alive insects walking on the floor. This is nothing super alarming as this is due to the dirt from people's shoes when they walk in, but the place could use a bit more cleaning or, at least, a place where you can clean your shoes slightly like a carpet. Nevertheless I would recommend this place 100% as no one eats on the floor.

Lovely little cafe on a beautiful road in Barnes. Across the road from the church. Great coffee and no extra charge for alternative milk like ALL places should be! Great selection of pastries, only plant based option was a delicious cookie. Interesting selection of fermented food and drinks in the chiller.

Really cool bakehouse with a wide selection of baked goods like cruffins, buns, brownies, and bread. The space is large and open, making it a great spot to sit in, plus they offer more than just coffee. I was happy to see they have coconut milk on the menu. However, the matcha wasn’t the best—clumpy at the bottom and a bit bitter, so I wouldn’t recommend it as not a good grade. Aside from that, everything else is great, and the prices are reasonable compared to other spots nearby, which keeps me coming back

I generally never write reviews but.. the sourdough bread at Lockdown is truly worth buying. Tastes great, the crust won’t break your teeth or cut your gums and the crumb is light, soft and chewy. It is just wonderful. Well done!!!

My favorite bakery in Barnes. I live locally and there is a reason this place is always busy. The coffees and pastries are wonderful, but do not leave without a sourdough loaf. I promise you’ll regret it

I love the bread from this bakehouse. They change around their pastry’s and bakes on the window so you don’t ever have the same over and over. The rolls by the till are also a great addiction. I can’t speak for coffee as I do not drink it! They also allows dogs inside which is a plus plus plus. But I come here often for the bread.
